Claire Scholes
Claire is the Company MD and with this has the drive and focus to take LairdKing forward. Claire fell into the Custom Installation industry in 2002 as LairdKing’s finance manager and since then has pushed her way to the top job! Traditionally trained and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountact Claire has all the knowledge to run the buinses and attempt to run the whole industry! Claire has a passion and enthusiasm for the technology that LairdKing provide and is always inspired by a finished project. In Claire’s spare time you will probably find her running or cycling around the County.
Rhonda Dearsley
Rhonda joined LairdKing in June 2009 as our Sales Manager, and since then has had to hit the ground running. Rhonda comes from an Interior background and brings us geeks down to earth when designing equipment into clients homes. Rhonda has travelled the world making sales for her last post and is enjoying the change in industry. Rhonda loves nothing more than to find a business who wishes to collaborate on projects with us. Oh….. and Rhonda cooks, and we all eat which is perfect!!
David King
David is the founder of LairdKing and our Senior Designer and Project Technician. David’s career started as a recording engineer and record producer. Never one to sit still David also spent this time developing a sound recording console automation system which he sold to Allen and Heath. David then joined Allen & Heath as a part of the R&D department and then Marketing Manager. Having left A&H after the company was bought out, David started DKT Ltd specialising in audio installation contracts in the commercial sector. David changed the focus of the business towards high net-worth private individuals and created LairdKing. Since 2001 David has steered the company to steady growth and handed the MD role to Claire so he can focus on the design and technical areas of LairdKing. Outside of LairdKing Daivd still dabbles in his original passion of studio engineering and record producing.
Yan Speake
Yan’s brain is full of coding excellence which is why he is our Chief Programmer. Yan met David at Allen & Heath in the R&D department. On completion of his MSc in Electronics Engineering Yan joined David at DKT ltd to engineer the FreeWay Universal Gateway. Within LairdKing Yan has worked on the design team and software development. Trained as a Linn programmer, Rti programmer, and Crestron programmer amongst others Yan provides us with a talent that allows us to offer true integration. When Yan has finished for the week he is often spotted around the County gigging with his Double Bass.
Julian Coles
Julian is our latest newby at LairdKing. Julian has joined us as a Custom Installer but really he does everything from project management to soldering!! Having left the rolling hills of Somerset Julian has made the big leap to Cornwall to bring his skills onto all our projects in the South West and South East. Julian had AV in his blood from birth and loved helping out fixing TV’s and HiFi’s in his spare time and takes great pleasure in opening black boxes to find out what they do!
